Exposes the student to American Sign Language. Readiness activities are conducted focusing on visual/receptive skills and basic communication. Utilizes the direct experience method. Students must complete this course with a `B` or higher or pass the ASL 1121 proficiency test at 80% or better prior to acceptance into the Interpreting and Transliterating Preparation program. Prerequisite: ASL 1121
