See below for upcoming District Select courses. These are FRCC courses open to BVSD students only and are offered after school or online. During the school year, District Select courses count toward your total course load.
Check back frequently for updates. If you are interested in a course but the date and times have not been publicized, please complete the Google request form so we can gauge how much interest there is.
To request approval to take a District Select course, please complete the Spring CBG Agreement and Request form found on the CBG homepage.
Requests for District Select courses will be accepted until courses are full or one week before classes begin.

In this course, we explore climate change from an earth science perspective. We’ll learn about how the climate system works and changes over time, both naturally and through human forcing. We will also explore how climate change will affect our societies, economies, and politics, as well as how we can prepare for the changes to reduce the potential harm and other solutions, and make our communities more resilient. This class is an interesting deep dive into one of the defining problems of our age.

Exposes the student to American Sign Language. Readiness activities are conducted focusing on visual/receptive skills and basic communication. Utilizes the direct experience method. Students who plan to articulate with the UNC ASLIS BA program will be required to attain a grade of 'B' or better, or pass the ASL 1121 proficiency test with a score of at least 80% or better prior to registering for ASL 1122.
