An introductory business and marketing course, enables students to acquire a realistic understanding of business processes and activities. Students examine fundamental economic concepts, the business environment, and primary business activities. They develop an understanding of and skills in such areas as customer relations, economics, emotional intelligence, financial analysis, human resources management, information management, marketing, operations, professional development, and strategic management. Throughout the course, students are presented ethical dilemmas and problem-solving situations for which they must apply academic and critical-thinking skills.

Principles of Advertising courses expose students to the varied concepts underlying the promotion of products. The topics included in Principles of Advertising courses range considerably, but typically include the psychology of advertising, a study of various media, advertising planning and budgeting, and advertising layout and design principles. Course topics may also include an overview of commercial art and packaging.

Introduces students to the planning, implementation and control activities of project management, including project and performance evaluation, quality control and workflow analysis. Emphasis will be on the initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing activities of Project Management. Provides an in depth exploration of project management techniques that use software to automate the project management processes. The course emphasizes project management strategies, goal setting and communication with team members, management and vendors. Critical thinking, discussion, and real world projects will be used to explore the creation of a task list, resource assignment and leveling. Students will learn to use GANTT charts, milestones, Critical Path Methodology, PERT, project tracking and reporting. Brings into focus the subject material covered in MAN 241 and CIS 202. Emphasis will be placed on melding general concepts of project management with practical applications of software to complete a project management assignment.

Coding I is a course intended to teach students the basics of computer programming. The course places emphasis on practicing standard programming techniques and learning the logic tools and methods typically used by programmers to create simple computer applications. A cutting-edge course designed to introduce high school students to the exciting world of quantum computing. Quantum is the next frontier of computing technology, and will impact fields such as healthcare, finance, and cybersecurity. In this course, high school students will learn concepts that many students do not hear about until well into their undergraduate or even graduate education, but tailored specifically for high school students. The course follows a college class structure with one large weekly lecture given by a professor and paired with a 60-min lab session of smaller cohorts led by Graduate student TAs. Both the lecture and labs are broadcast live online, and recordings are available to students to review on their own time. BVSD Teachers serve as facilitators for this course and support students in either a full class section or as an independent study, depending on enrollment numbers. Intro to Quantum Computing can be taken as a single semester (Fall only) or as a full-year course. Students who complete the year-long course with a C (70%) or better will earn a Certificate of Completion in Quantum Computing.
