Computer Science is not just for software engineers anymore. It is a way of thinking, creating, and solving problems that is utilized in the physical, social, and biological sciences, creative arts, engineering, business, entertainment, of course software development, and more!
AI, the Internet, communications networks, computers and software systems are increasingly integral to our lives. We need to understand how they work and think about their implications.
Check with colleges about CS component in many majors (especially STEAM majors)

Family and Consumer Sciences
Our Family and Consumer Science courses are all about preparing students for real life—whether that’s in the kitchen, in relationships, or in planning for the future. In Culinary Essentials I and II, students gain hands-on culinary skills, learning everything from food safety and nutrition to menu planning, baking, and meal preparation—skills they can use at home or in future careers. In Teen Choices, students build the tools they need to make safe, healthy decisions during high school and beyond, from understanding wellness and relationships to navigating peer pressure and the law. And in our Life Management course, students take a deeper dive into discovering who they are, how to communicate effectively, and how to make wise choices about health, nutrition, and life after graduation. Together, these courses empower students with practical skills, confidence, and knowledge they’ll use every day—long after high school.
