Visual Arts
Visual Arts in BVSD allow students to express themselves, develop creativity, and engage in critical thinking. The four standards include: observe & learn to comprehend, envision & critique to reflect, invent & discover to create, and relate & connect to transfer. In visual arts classes,
- Students have opportunities to form ideas, engage in artmaking, and work through an interactive process
- Learning experiences include a broad range of perspectives, including different cultures, contexts, and purposes for artmaking
- Teacher feedback and opportunities for self-assessment help students refine their artistic practice.
Regardless of their post-graduate pursuits, opportunities to create and experience the visual arts equip students for artistic, intellectual, and cultural learning and expression throughout their lives.
