The transition to high school can be both exciting and nerve wrecking for parents and students. It is also a time when students become more independent. The high schools in BVSD have a wide selection of course offerings and opportunities and offer students guidance on their future goals. The below general resources will give you an overview of content area resources and supports as well as district programs targeted towards future success. The best resource, though, will be your school and counselor.

Preparing for post-graduate success
In BVSD we want all students to graduate prepared with the skills they need to succeed in life, career, and college. We know there are many paths to success and provide students a wide array of options and pathways.
ASCENT is a program that pays tuition for students to take a year of college courses at a community college after their senior year. If a student plans appropriately, they can complete that 5th year of High School with as much as two years of college paid for.
Beginning with the Class of 2021, in order for BVSD students to graduate high school and receive a high school diploma, they must meet Colorado’s new graduation guidelines.
BVSD ensures all high school students have an ICAP to start planning their future.
BVSD students can earn free college credit at the same time as high school credit, giving them a head start on their college and career goals.
Middle and High School students at BVSD can take a wide array of career focused classes that empower students with the rigorous academic and technical skills needed to succeed.
Students in BVSD can graduate with the Seal of Biliteracy, giving them an advantage in college and/or career.
