2025 Enrollment has closed-we are no longer enrolling students
Summer Summit is a full day academic program for rising kindergarten-rising 8th grade students, who are currently or will be enrolled in a BVSD (non-charter) school for the 2025 school year. Summer Summit is designed to prevent the summer slide for students who could use additional support, and provide school readiness skills (for rising K students).
Details:
- Dates: June 2nd-June 26th (Monday-Thursday)
- No School Thursday, June 19th
- Times:
- Elementary: 7:50-2:50
- Middle School: 8:50-3:50
- No after school care is provided
- Cost: $50 registration fee
- Fee will be waived for families approved for Free & Reduced Lunch
- Fee will be reimbursed in late July/early August for students who's attendance is 80% or higher
- Timelines/Invite Process: Summer Summit will be on an invite only basis for the Summer of 2025. Students will need to be invited by their school/teacher to attend.
- January: Schools and teachers are developing their invite list
- Schools/teachers will notify families if their child(ren) will receive an invite
- February: Invites will be sent to families beginning February 14th
- February 14th-March 20th: Enrollment Period for invited families
- Enrollment for rising K students not enrolled in a BVSD PK will remain open until March 31st (or until spots are filled)
- April 15th: Open spots will be evaluated and wait list families will be notified
- May 23rd: Transportation and additional information will be shared with families
- Week of May 26th: Additional emails will come from the Teacher Leader (early in the week) and from the teacher (later in the week)
- January: Schools and teachers are developing their invite list
- Additional Details:
- Breakfast and lunch will be provided
- Transportation is provided for students who are transportation eligible (1.5 miles+ for elementary and 2+ miles for middle school).
- Students must be enrolled in an BVSD (non-charter school) prior to registering for Summer Summit. If your child is not yet enrolled for 2025, please visit the BVSD enrollment page.
Rising K Information:
Our Rising K Summer Summit program is 100% funded by Impact on Education. Rising K is a month long academic program to provide students who will be in kindergarten with school readiness skills and experience. Students will experience what a full day of kindergarten looks and feels like.
How do I enroll my rising kindergarten child?
- Current BVSD Preschool Students:
- Will be recommended by their school
- Recommended students will receive an invite on February 14th by email and can register here
- Students NOT currently in a BVSD Preschool:
- Target Students: Have never attended a formal preschool, have family risk factors, attend Head Start, single parent household, new to the country, unemployed parents, economic hardship, non-English speaking parents, large family, teen parent(s), school age children in the house hold qualify for free & reduced lunch, etc.
