Frequently Asked Questions

A variety of data points (assessment scores, attendance, ELD, IEP, 504, behavior, etc.) are used to develop an initial student list. Schools then receive the list and can add/subtract students they feel could benefit from the Summer Summit program. If you have specific questions on why your child was invited please reach out to your child's teacher.

Students are considered transportation eligible if they are 1.5+ miles from the school site (elementary) and 2+ miles  (middle school). Transportation details will be emailed out by the end of May.  Reminder, this is not your regular during the year bus stop site.

• Transportation Reminders: 
  • Please have your child at the bus stop location 5-10 minutes prior to their departure time. 
  • Routes can often run late, especially during the first week.
  • It is very important that young students have an adult at the bus stop with them in the morning and to pick them up in the afternoon. 

Enrollment for 2026 has closed. Please reach out to your school with any questions.

Because the program is only 15 instructional days, it is required that students attend all 15 full days, unless there are extenuating circumstances. 

We do not offer Summer Summit programing for students in or going into high school. However, the following options are offered within BVSD:

• Credit Recovery is a free option for students who failed a class during the regular school year. 
  • Contact: Please reach out to your child's counselor. Each school organizes and runs their own Credit Recovery programs during the summer and school year. 
• BVSD Online offers full semester courses (for a fee) that are 100% virtual. These course are for students who want to: Improve a grade (from a C or D),  take a class for first time credit, open up space in their school year schedule, etc. This includes Wellness in Action.
