Emergency Information

9/30/24 10:39 a.m. UPDATE

Dear Ryan and Centaurus Families and Staff,

This morning, Boulder County Sheriff's Office briefly placed our schools in SECURE as a precautionary measure, as they searched for an individual in the neighborhood near our schools.

While today is a professional development day for our staff, we know that some students and families may be at our school today for non-academic activities, Our protocol is to send emergency alerts, even on days like this to ensure whoever may be at our buildings receive the emergency messaging and can take action to stay safe.

During a SECURE, we bring any outdoor activities indoors and we check to ensure all of our outer perimeter doors are closed and locked. Otherwise, all other activities continue as normal.

In this case, we received word very quickly that the police had resolved the situation and they lifted the SECURE and our buildings returned to normal operation.

We expect the remainder of the day to continue as planned.
