Student Advisory Committee (SAC)
Middle School

The Student Advisory Committee (SAC) is a group of middle school students who meet monthly with school district administration on issues related to students. SAC represents the more than 7,000 middle school students in the Boulder Valley School District. It is a group that influences decisions directly impacting students, such as homework policies, equity issues, and student clubs and activities.

The purpose of SAC is to give all students a greater voice in the decisions that affect them and their education. SAC is a tool for students – it is a way to bring important issues up and enact change on district-wide student issues. The SAC ultimately improves communication between students, teachers, administration and the Superintendent.
SAC is organized with two students from every middle school in the district to represent their school. Meetings begin at 9 a.m. and typically end around 1 p.m. They are scheduled three times per year. SAC meets at the Boulder Valley Education Center (6500 E. Arapahoe Road, Boulder, CO 80303).
