Superintendent's Honor Roll

Kaiya Wolf, Teacher, Nederland Middle School
Named 2014 Teacher of the Year by the Colorado Council for Children with Behavioral Disorders

Kaiya was nominated for this recognition by Jeff Miller, Principal of Nederland Elementary, who wrote:
It is a thrill to know that someone who is as deserving as Kaiya Wolf is receiving the Cessna Award.
Kaiya is, quite simply, remarkable ... she cares deeply about the students she works with and loves the teaching profession. She is positive and enthusiastic and always puts in the “extra effort” for her community, her staff, and most importantly, her students -- her kids thrive and grow with her guidance.
Beyond the scope of her caseload, Kaiya is a well-liked teacher who is an adult role model for Nederland’s students and builds relationships with all students at Nederland Elementary. She works hard to ensure that our kids have a total environment that affects learning and seeks to enhance positive behavior supports into our school.
Kaiya is highly regarded by our staff – she actively seeks feedback from general education teachers, honors the expertise of her paraeducator staff, and teams with SpEd personnel in order to effectively serve all students.
Kaiya is the very best of people and could teach in any classroom setting she chooses. I honor and admire the fact that she chooses to work with students who need someone like her most -- someone who is hopeful, engaged, caring, committed, and believes that all children have the capacity to be learners. All of us at Nederland Elementary are lucky to be associated with Kaiya. Congratulations.
