Lee Ann Buckner, Student Enrollment Administrative Assistant, and Lola Campos, Food Service Free & Reduced Meal Specialist, in recognition of their work to organize and staff the BVSD Help Center that took place two weeks in August. They were nominated by Mike Wilcox and Ann Cooper, who wrote:
We would like to nominate Lee Ann Buckner and Lola Campos to the Superintendent's Honor Roll for their tireless work in the inaugural start-of-school Help Center offered at the Ed Center this August.
The Help Center focused on providing families expert help for all their start of year application needs, including the online Annual Data Update and digital Free & Reduced applications, as we were changing so many of our systems at once. The Help Center catered to hundreds of visitors and keeping the flow going well was challenging. Employees worked long hours and dealt with so many first experiences, it was difficult to not have families experience our growing pains right along with us.
Lee Ann and Lola never waivered. They got there early and stayed late. They didn't take breaks, often skipping lunch. They dealt with our customers all day long, providing personal assistance to parents who needed help to enroll, register, activate a Parent Portal account, or to complete the new online Free/Reduced-price Lunch application. And despite the potential of lengthy waits, they had almost all families leave satisfied.
Keeping cool under pressure goes with our mission, but keeping the family pleased under the same conditions is exemplary customer service on Lee Ann and Lola's part.
